Second annual Remembrance Walk this Friday

The Prentiss Fire Department will be hosting its second annual Remembrance Walk April 15, Good Friday. This, of course, is in remembrance of the walk Jesus Christ took on his way to be crucified. Participants will be carrying a wooden cross throughout the walk. “Let this be an open invitation to all surrounding first responders and anyone that would like to participate is welcome to,” said Prentiss Fire Chief Wayne Bass. The walk will start at the Ronald Wayne Jones Memorial Complex on Hwy.184 at 8 a.m. and travel down Columbia Ave. through Prentiss, ending at the former Country Fisherman. Event coordinator Michael Davis asks that participants arrive by 7:30 a.m. Friday morning. “A special thanks to Mayor Charley Dumas and the Prentiss Board of Aldermen for giving us this opportunity again. Let’s come together in remembrance of the one who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that one day we may have everlasting life.”
