Graveside services for Mrs. Anna Grace Hope Carson were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Brady Cemetery in Prentiss.  Bro. Caleb Smith officiated.

Anna Grace Hope Carson was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Breckenridge (Stephens County) Texas to William Leroy Hope and Anna Clyde Davis Hope.   She passed away, Friday, May 13, 2022, at her home in Prentiss.

In 1947, Anna entered Real Estate School and held a Texas Real Estate License until 1975 with the Real Estate Appraisal Firm Colwell, Carson and Weems.

In 1979, Mrs. Carson moved to Jefferson Davis County, with her husband Lonnie, where they built their home and operated a small farm.

Anna was a Christian and Past President of the Prentiss Women’s Club and Past Secretary of the Tuesday Ladies’ Club.

Fondly known as Lala, she was an exceptional cook who enjoyed sharing with all of those she knew.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Lonnie B. Carson and Joe B. Longnecker, daughter, Julia Anne Carson, two sisters, Frances Hope Love and Ruby Juanita Hope, two brothers, William L. Hope Jr. and Milton E. Hope.

Anna is survived by her son, Thomas L. Longnecker (Bonnie), of Long Beach, granddaughters, Karen Christine Hamm of Franklin, Tennessee, Beth Anne Smith (fiancé Luis Gigliotti) of Austin, Texas, Sarah Ellen Bernfeld (Ben) of Lakeway, Texas, special daughter, Roberta Andrews of Natalia, Texas,  great grandchildren, Ida Pearl Smith, Otto B. Smith, Axel E. Bernfeld and Bridget Grace Bernfeld, multiple nieces and nephews, and special niece and nephew-in-law, Joyce and Charles Martin of Prentiss, along with her best four legged friend, Buddy.

Pallbearers were Ben Bernfeld, Keith Carson, Luis Gigliotti, Scotty Goodlow and Mike Rogers.   Honorary Pallbearers were Larry Rogers, Charles Martin and nephews Gene Hope, Steve Hope, John Hope and Gary Conwell.

The family would like to express special thanks to caregivers Beth Creel, Margaret Hartzog, Shannon Nelson and Ruth Williams who lovingly cared for Anna in recent years.

Visitation was held Monday, May 16 at 9:00 a.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Betty Robbins Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Robbins were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Society Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Young officiating. Interment followed in the Society Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Robbins, age 75, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord early Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, at the Forrest General Hospital. Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements. The Robbins family received friends one hour before the funeral service, beginning at noon, Tuesday, at Society Hill Baptist Church. Pallbearers included Kelley LeNormand, Cymantha Shellenberger, Mason Robbins, Jenna Robbins, Frank Vice and Frank Vice Jr. Betty Robbins was born on June 6, 1949, in Magee, Mississippi to Walter R. and Margaret Jones Bishop. Mrs. Robbins was a long-time resident of Carson. She and her husband would go on to raise a happy family of six children that would multiply over the years with the addition of in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Robbins loved the country life and will be remembered for not only growing a yard full of beautiful flowers, but also a vegetable garden of which she fed her family. An animal lover, she also had dogs, chickens and hogs over the years. Mrs. Robbins was a member of Society Hill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter R. and Margaret Bishop, her husband, Kenneth Terrell Robbins Sr; her daughter, Pamela Robbins; sisters, Patsy Holden, Margaret  Coble, Linda Hester and her brother, Richard Bishop. Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Billie Jo Williamson of Prentiss; sons, Kenny Robbins Jr. (Kathy) of Carson, Mikell Robbins (Kelley) of Palestine, Texas, John Robbins (Nicole) of Sumrall, Daniel Robbins, (Tanya) of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Ray Bishop (Nancy) of Magee and her sister, Myrtis Craig (Ed) of Rossville, Georgia. Mrs. Robbins also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
