The PNII National Alumni Organization’s 2022 All Class Reunion began on June 17, and culminated in a banquet the following evening June 18, which featured guest speaker Dr. Art Cribbs, leader of the Prentiss Institute Partnership.
The highlight of the 2022 All Class Reunion was the Dedication of the Memorial Brick Garden honoring many loved ones that were lost since the last reunion was held in 2019. There were no reunions during the pandemic.
Preparations for the PNII 2022 All Class Reunion began several weeks ago on the Prentiss Institute campus, starting with the Memorial Brick Garden. Local residents driving by the campus saw brick layer John Barnes and his son diligently working in front of the Rosenwald Building laying engraved bricks, honoring donors and remembering loved ones, which were sold during the Sapphire Fundraiser.
After the bricks were in place Queen Sutton, Reunion Chair, brought in James Armstrong and Susan and Joel Hoxie who provided landscaping skills and expertise for planting and maintaining the garden. Lastly, Cammie Reese and Chellie Payne coordinated a local youth group that provided much needed labor in completing the project.
The PNII National Alumni were proud to be able to hold a dedication and ribbon cutting, long overdue on June 18, during the PNII 2022 National Alumni All Class Reunion for this beautiful addition at the entrance to the Rosenwald Building.
The Prentiss Institute Board of Trustees and the Prentiss institute National Alumni Organization thank everyone that committed their time, labor and financial contributions towards the Memorial Brick Garden.
