Creepy critters, ghouls, monsters, movie characters and adorable children will soon be asking for treats at the front doors of residences all across Jefferson Davis County.

Trick-or-Treat for the Town of Prentiss will be held Oct. 31, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. for children 12 and under.

“We encourage those that wish to participate to leave a porch light on so the children will know who to ask for treats,” said Prentiss Mayor Charley Dumas.

The Town of Bassfield will have Trick or Treat Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

While police officers will be patrolling to ensure the safety of revelers as much as possible, residents are reminded to take extra health and safety measures.

According to Dumas and Ladner, no streets will be closed in Prentiss or Bassfield. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution, watch for children and not text while driving.
