Gerald C. Barr was born on March 22, 1936, in Smith County Mississippi to Grady and Rubenia Blakney Barr.  Mr. Barr worked for Southern Pine Electric Company for 40 years, retiring as a supervisor over right of way.  He will especially be remembered for his joy of fishing and watching sports; but his greatest passion was watching his grandson play baseball.  During ball season, Gerald and Lorraine could always be found at the ball field, cheering for their favorite baseball player, Dylan.  Mr. Barr was dearly loved and will be missed by all that knew him.  He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church.

Mr. Barr was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Rubenia Barr and his sister, Jackie.

His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 46 years, Lorraine Barr; three sons, Jerry Barr, Ricky (Penny) Barr, Jamie (Jonnie) Martin; two sisters, Betty Nedbalek, Barbie Byrd and his brother Johnny Barr.  The legacy of their PawPaw will also live on through his nine grandchildren and nine 9 great-grandchildren.
