The Jefferson Davis County High School JROTC program, in partnership with Walmart and DFI, prepared over 150 fruit baskets for the Mississippi Veterans Home in Collins. The Cadets prepared the baskets Nov. 9 after school.

They delivered baskets to the residents the following day. “This was our way of giving back to the Veterans who have given so much,” said JROTC Leader Derrick Hall.

Bassfield Mayor Angie Ladner and Prentiss Mayor Charley Dumas assisted in preparing the baskets.

“Mr. Hall reached out to me and I was happy to help,” said Ladner. “We always enjoy supporting our students at JDCHS.”
