Roger Daley

A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Bassfield with interment following in Carson Cemetery. Father Tomasz Golab officiated. Mr. Daley, age 79, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord late Tuesday night, Nov. 8, 2022, at the Marion General Hospital in Columbia.

The wake was held Friday evening, Nov. 11, 2022, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Peter Parish Hall in Bassfield.

Roger Alan Daley was born on July 15, 1943, in Carson, to Dan Alex and Nettie Grace Parker Daley. Mr. Daley graduated from Francis T. Nichols High School in New Orleans and afterwards, proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army. An avid golfer, he was also a fan of the Ole Miss Rebels and enjoyed being a HAM Radio operator. Mr. Daley was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Bassfield.
Mr. Daley was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Alex and Nettie Grace Daley; his son-in-law, Edneis Ferreira; his brothers, Robert and Albert Daley and sisters, Janice Pier, Karen Arnold and Betty Sue Daley.
His memory will forever be cherished by his daughters, Nicole (David) Jones of Prentiss, Julie Ferreira of Hattiesburg; sisters, Wanda Thompson of Purvis, Alexis Stephens of Seymour, TN; brothers, Basil Daley of Nashville, Tennessee and Mark Daley of Carson.  The legacy of their granddaddy will also live on through his granddaughters, whom he loved very much, Samantha (Joe) Bass and Gabriella Ferreira.
