Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia for Mrs. Clara Mae Hathorn, 80, who passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Rev. Kevin D. Russell officiated with interment following at Wheeler Cemetery in Bassfield. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clara Hathorn was born to the late Willie Batimon and the late Annie Mae Batimon. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Columbia. Mrs. Hathorn was a retired bus driver, Eastern Star, and enjoyed cooking, sewing, puzzles, and flowers

Mrs. Hathorn is survived by seven children: Clara J. Holiday (Eddie), Jacksonville, Florida; Terry Lee Hathorn (Tameka), Bassfield; Jamie A. Preston (Anthony), Bassfield; Dewayne Hathorn (Monica), Bassfield; Jennifer Hathorn, Laurel; Annie Crosby (Brady), Bassfield; and Keshia Hathorn, Tylertown; sister, Johnnie Mae Magee (Ray), Columbia; brother, Willie Batimon, Jr. (Carolyn), Columbia; twenty-eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
