Supervisors honored at banquet

The Jefferson Davis County Soil and Water Conservation District held its annual Membership Meeting and Banquet on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Prentiss.
The purpose of this annual membership meeting and banquet was to recognize individuals who contributed to the management of our natural resources and to give thanks to those who have supported this organization throughout the year.
Sandra Warren, SWCD Commissioner was the emcee for the evening.
Bro. Tom Jackson, of Bethany Baptist Church, led the invocation before the meal. The Family Catering prepared the delicious meal for the meeting.
Sandra Warren presented the Board of Supervisors with awards for their continued support of the Soil & Water Conservation District. Charles Reid and Bobby Rushing were in attendance to accept their awards.
Patrick Vowell, MSWCC Water Quality Director, Dennis Jones, NRCS Area Conservationist and Kurt Readus, NRCS State Conservationist gave an agency update to the crowd.
