Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, at Pen Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Silver Creek, for Mr. Hezekiah Brown, 99, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Rev. Freddie DeShazer officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hezekiah Brown was born to the late Willie Brown Sr. and Josephine Martin Brown. Mr. Brown was a Sergeant in the United States Army and served during World War II. Mr. Brown was a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and principal. Mr. Hezekiah Brown dedicated his life to public service

Mr. Hezekiah Brown is survived by a son,Hezekiah Brown II; four grandchildren: Hezekiah III, Kimberly Nicole, Terence, and Katelyn; four great-grandchildren; a special niece, Margaret Scott Broadnax, Selma, Alabama; devoted friends, Lee, Geanell, and Arian Adams of Terry and  and many other relatives and friends.
