Clarissa Marie Magee was born on Feb. 3, 1963, in Mobile, Alabama to William “Bill” and Donna Hall Peterson.  Marie graduated from New Hebron High School and spent several years working at KLH Industries in Prentiss, where she made many friends. Afterwards, she and her late husband Terry, were poultry farmers.  Her family recalls that she seemed to have an endless supply of energy and was basically of jack of all trades.

Through the years, many memories were made with Marie and those memories have now become treasures that will be cherished for years to come. Her family remarks that she  was very crafty and enjoyed making gifts of love, especially monogrammed items, for each of them.  However, it is without question that her greatest enjoyment was that of being a MiMi to her grandchildren.  From ball games to pageants and soccer games to Valentine parties, she made a point to be at any and every event that her grandchildren were involved in.  Christmas was especially a time that Marie looked forward to.  It was during this season that she gave hand made Christmas ornaments to her family.  Making the Yuletide season even more special, each grandchildren received a handwritten letter from Santa; these letters will especially be cherished as they grow up and realize that the author was none other than their ever thoughtful MiMi.  Marie was a member of Phalti Baptist Church.  She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Magee and also her sister, Vera Thurman.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Kristan Peterson of New Hebron; two sons, Carl Peterson (Mikki) of Silver Creek, T.J. Magee (Hailey) of Slidell, Louisiana and two sisters, Wendy Womack of Mendenhall and Hope McDaniel of New Hebron.  The legacy of their MiMi will forever live on in the hearts of the grandchildren she adored; they include Chloe, Harley, Aulbrey, Casen, Cylas and Conner Peterson; Clayton, Ellarie and Emmerson Magee.
