Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Deputies are currently investigating a murder on Hosey Mikell Road just outside of Bassfield. A call came in to the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Office early Thursday morning with reports of gunfire in the area.

Keenan McLaurin, 25, of Bassfield, was discovered with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead on the scene. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department at 601-792-5169.
