Annual Remembrance Walk is this Friday

- Holley Cochran / The Prentiss Headlight—Law enforcement officers and community members carried a wooden cross through Prentiss Good Friday morning during its first annual Remembrance Walk in 2021.
The Prentiss Fire Department will be hosting its third annual Remembrance Walk April 7, Good Friday.
This, of course, is in remembrance of the walk Jesus Christ took on his way to be crucified. Participants will be carrying a wooden cross throughout the walk.
“Let this be an open invitation to all surrounding first responders and anyone that would like to participate is welcome to,” said Prentiss Fire Chief Wayne Bass.
The walk will start at the Ronald Wayne Jones Memorial Complex on Highway 184 at 8 a.m. and travel down Columbia Ave. ending at the Longleaf Trace Park in downtown Prentiss.
Event coordinator Michael Davis asks that participants arrive by 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.
