Funeral services were held Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Sweetwater C.M.E. Church in Bassfield for Ms. Bobbie Jean Hathorn, 54, who passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Rev. Tyrone McLaurin officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is the daughter of Stella Hawthorne Knight and the late Charlie Louis Hathorn. She was a member of Sweetwater C.M.E. Church in Bassfield.

Ms. Bobbie Jean Hathorn was a certified CNA at Bedford Care. She enjoyed working and having fun.

She is survived by her mother, Stella Knight (James Earl), Bassfield; daughters, Shenekia Hathorn, Shaniya Smith, Shakira Smith, Shayuana Hathorn all of Bassfield; brother, Robert Louis Hathorn, Bassfield; four grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
