Funeral services were held Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Sweetwater C.M.E. Church in Bassfield for Mr. John Harrison Hathorn, 82, who passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss.

Rev. Charleston Johnson officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of the late Monroe and Willie Ree Hathorn. He was a member of Sweetwater C.M.E. Church in Bassfield.

Mr. John Harrison Hathorn retired form Sanderson Farms. He loved farming, carpentry, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hathorn, Collins; sons, Raymond Hathorn and John E. Hathorn both of Collins; daughters, Devita Hathorn (Renee), Atlanta, Georgia; Betty Brooks (Brandon), Mt. Olive; brother, C. Allen Hathorn, Prentiss; sisters, Jean Brown and Lenell Hathorn both of Bassfield; six grandchildren and many other relatives and friends
