The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation into an officer involved shooting that killed a Marion County resident Tuesday afternoon at approximately 4:30 p.m.

According to the MBI, Marion County deputies attempted to serve multiple arrest warrants on Lonnie Hendon when he pulled into the driveway at 4665 Highway 35 North.

As deputies approached his vehicle Hendon allegedly pulled out a firearm from his car.

The deputies then fired their weapons, causing fatal injuries.

There were no other injuries at the scene.
