Funeral services were held Saturday, July 1, 2023, at St. Paul M. B. Church in Silver Creek, for Mr. Mitchell Dale Lewis, 65, who passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. Dr. Michael O. Evans officiated with interment following in Pearl River Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements

He is the son of the late Leo and Gloria Faye Lewis. He attended St. Paul M. B. Church. He was formerly an electrical engineer; loved listening to old school music, barbequing, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and Miami Heat.

Mr. Mitchell Dale Lewis is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Lewis, Silver Creek; three daughters, Shawanda Lewis, Silver Creek; Monica (Christopher) Odom, USAF Spangdahlem, Germany; Cassandra Lewis, Seattle, Washington; one son, Matthew “Drummer Boy” Lewis, Silver Creek; brother, Marvin (Charlotte) Lewis, Silver Creek; sister, Shirley Ann Brown, Oakland, California; three grandchildren, Reina, Gianna and Deacon and many other loving relatives and special friends.
