Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Taylorhill Missionary Bap-tist Church in New Hebron, for Mr. Jerry Walker, 61, who passed away on Fri-day, Oct. 6, 2023, at his residence. Rev. Robert McDuffy officiated with inter-ment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of the late R. T. and Mary Smith. He was a member of Taylorhill Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Walker was a farmer who enjoyed carpentry and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan.

He is survived by his children, Detric B. Stringer of Jackson; Candies Walker-Stringer of Columbus; Antomorrs Johnson of Littler Rock, Arkansas; brothers, Milton (Ellen) Walker, Matthew (Vivian) Walker both of New Hebron; John A. Walker of Jackson; sisters, Carolyn W. Moore and Mary (Joe) Willard of Jackson; JoAnn (Hollis) Sutton of Dallas, Texas; Georgia (Oles) Newsome of Monticello; two grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
