SSgt. Chellie Payne introduced Capt. Derek Hall, who was the speaker for the event.

Hall said there are four values that every person who joins the military already possesses: personal courage, selfless service, duty and honor. Those four, along with loyalty, integrity and respect, make up the seven Army values. “Every time you see a veteran you are looking at personal courage and see a person that did their duty,” said Hall. “And to the Veterans of Jefferson Davis County, you don’t hear it enough, but we appreciate you.”

Gift bags and medallions were presented to all Veterans as they were recognized by Rose Powell and Lottie McLeod. Cammie Reese and Barbara Slater presented participant awards followed by closing prayer by Maj. Walt Moeller.

Fifteen bikers were in attendance at the Antique Car Show along with five antique trucks and one car. First place was awarded to Johnnie Bines, second place to Sandra McCollum and third place LaJoyce Gray. Six vendors provided shopping, food and information in the park including: South Central MSAPRI, Save the Children, J’ Lolzs Boutique, American Legion Post 218 Mount Olive, Martha Malloy Handbags and Jewelry and Catering.
