Jefferson Davis County is full of talented athletes. Four of them have been chosen to play in all-star games in the next few weeks.

Seniors Blain Rogers, Dylan Martin and Keegan May will represent Prentiss Christian School in the MAIS All-Star game. Rogers was a punter for the Saints, while Martin served as quarterback and May as a linebacker.

“All three of these young men played key roles in helping Prentiss Christian have another successful football season,” said Prentiss Christian Head Football Coach Terrell Luckey.

Prentiss Christian advanced to the second round of the MAIS football playoffs for the second straight year.

“We were able to host a home game in the first round due to the hard work and leadership provided by these three young men. I am very excited for each one of these players and I look forward to watching them compete.”

The MAIS All-Star game will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. at Jackson Preparatory School in Flowood. “I know they will positively represent our school and community during their participation in the All-Star game.”

Jefferson Davis High School senior Dee Darby was selected to play in the Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star game. The game will be played at Milner Stadium at Gulfport High School at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 9.

“Dee is an outstanding young man who has developed into one of the top defensive backs in the state,” said Jefferson Davis County Head Football Coach Lance Mancuso. Darby and the Jaguars made it to the third round of the playoffs this year. “I am proud of his growth and development over the years, and we look forward to supporting him as he represents our county in the all-star game.”
