Gunshots were heard throughout Prentiss Sunday night just before 9 p.m.

Two victims were inside a vehicle on Mount Carmel Avenue and Tyrone Drive when they were fired upon.

Ja’Quan Davis of Oakvale was struck and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Jefferson Davis Community Hospital and then life-flighted by Rescue 9 for further treatment.

This investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Prentiss Police Department with the assistance of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
