Due to the extreme cold and dangerous icy driving conditions  all JDC schools and Prentiss Christian School will be closed tomorrow, Jan. 16. All athletic events will be rescheduled.

Winter weather advisories have been expanded with wind chills in Jefferson Davis County expected to be as low as -10 to -1 degree. Sleet and freezing rain are likely and roads will become hazardous.

‘Please make any necessary preparations for this winter weather event ahead of its arrival and avoid any unnecessary travel during this time,” said JDC Emergency Management Director Jocelyn Ragsdale.

“Take the time to check on and assist the elderly residents in your community as well as take care of pets during these weather conditions. As in any event, preparedness saves lives.”
