All Jefferson Davis County governmental offices and Prentiss and Bassfield City Hall will be closed today, Jan. 16 due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. Temperatures are not expected to be above freezing  today.

The Jefferson Davis Board of Supervisors and Prentiss Board of Aldermen meetings scheduled for today are postponed.

Plans are to resume normal work schedule Jan. 17. However, weather and road conditions will be monitored throughout the day and night.

“Please avoid any unnecessary travel,” said Jefferson Davis County Emergency Management Director Jocelyn Ragsdale.
