The Jefferson Davis County Pre-K enrollment is now open for 2024-2025. Program features include licensed and highly qualified teachers, developmentally appropriate curriculum and play-based learning. The school district will conduct a Pre-K Roundup in March.
J.E. Johnson Elementary School will have one Pre-K classroom, and G.W. Carver Elementary School will have one Pre-K classroom. Each school will accept 20 four-year-old students who have reached the age of four years on or before Sept. 1 to enter the program.
The JDC School District was one of 11 districts in Mississippi to receive the State Invested Pre-K Program grant. The district is awarded $600,000 from the Mississippi Department of Education. The district implemented the Pre-K program for the first time last year.
Applications must be completed by April 1 to be considered for the open enrollment for Pre-Kindergarten. A link for the application can be found on the Jefferson Davis County School District Facebook page.
