Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Palestine Baptist Church, Oakvale, Mississippi for Miss Sherkila Monique Bourne, 42, who passed away on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss.

Rev. Timothy Rhodes officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is the daughter of Mrs. Neva Holmes. She was a member of Palestine Baptist Church in Oakvale.

Miss Bourne loved social media and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her father, Fred Holmes Sr. of Columbia; mother, Neva Holmes of Gulfport; daughter, Alaiyjha Bourne of Prentiss; son, Jamar McGowan of Prentiss; brother, Fred (Crystal) Holmes of Gulfport; sister, Felicia Bourne of Columbia and many other relatives and friends.
