The Jefferson Davis County Circuit Clerk’s Office will be open the next two Saturdays for absentee voting in the Presidential Primary election to be held March 12. The office will be open from 8 a.m. until noon.

Anyone who will be out of town on Election Day, is in college, is over the age of 65, or is not physically able to go to the polls, can vote absentee.

Voters can also cast an absentee ballot during regular office hours Monday through Friday at the circuit clerk’s office from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The last day to absentee vote is March 9.

On the Democratic ballot, Joseph R. Biden Jr. is running for President and Ty Pinkins is running for the U. S. Senate. Running for President on the Republican ballot are Ron DeSantis, Nikki R. Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and Donald J. Trump. U. S. Senate candidates are Ghannon Burton, Dan Eubanks and Roger Wicker. Michael Guest is unopposed on the Republican ballot for the U. S. House of Representatives.

Voters should bring a photo ID with them to the circuit clerk’s office which is located behind the courthouse on Third Street in Prentiss.

All mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked by March 12 and received by county circuit clerk offices by March 19.
