According to the proclamation, all citizens are encouraged to recognize the unique strengths and contributions of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities and acknowledge that they enrich the Town of Prentiss and make it a better place to live for everyone.

“It’s meant so much to us to have the facility available for the residents,” said Mayor Dumas. “I’m just very thankful they’re here, and we have this service available for them.”

“It gives job opportunities to our local people, and that’s a benefit to all of us.”

Prentiss joins many other cities, organizations, and agencies nationwide in observing National Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
