Dumas selected as grand marshal of tonight’s Christmas Parade in Prentiss

Dr. James Russell Dumas Jr. has been chosen as the grand marshal for the Prentiss Christmas Parade.

Dumas has been practicing dentistry in Prentiss since 1970.

He has served on the Jefferson Davis County Chamber of Commerce, Prentiss Christian School Board of Directors and the Rotary Club.

He is the Jefferson Davis County Republican Chairman.

He was a delegate for the American Dental Association for 30 years and served as president in 1987. He also served as president of the Mississippi Dental Association.

He is married to Peggy Joy Dale Dumas and they have five children, 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is a member of Prentiss Methodist Church.

The Prentiss Christmas Parade is tonight at 6 p.m. It will begin at the Jeffersonian and end at Fifth Street.

The Bassfield Christmas in the Park is Dec. 14 with the Bassfield Christmas Parade beginning at 2 p.m.
