On Tuesday, November 12 a house fire occured at approximately 11 p.m. at 489 Willie Buckley Road. Good Hope Fire Department arrived first on the  scene assisted by Bassfield Fire Department. No injuries were reported as the owner had just left the home not long prior to the fire being reported. The home was not a total loss, according to Bassfield Fire Chief Bill Matthews.

“An auxillary heater was left running to take the chill off, we believe that could have been the cause,” said Matthews who warns people to be cautious with electric heaters during the winter months.
