Mrs. Idell Fairman, 63, died February 2, 2014, at her home in rural Jefferson Davis County, south east of Bassfield. Gravesite services for Mrs. Fairman were held on February 11 at the Sweetwater Ancillary Cemetery, with Laird Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Fairman was the daughter of the late Fredrick Tucker and the late Doris Bell Tucker of Southern California. Mrs. Fairman married the late Carsie Fairman of Bassfield and moved with her husband to the Bassfield area of Jefferson Davis County to care for the late Carrie Payne, her mother-in-law, during the final stages of her illness. As a newcomer to the community, Mrs. Fairman made many friends, and was a valuable member of the Bassfield community.

Mrs. Fairman’s survivors include two brothers, Freddie Tucker of Chicago, IL, and Willie Tucker of Los Angeles, CA; one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Starling; and a number of other relatives and friends.
