Mrs. Rhodes was reared and educated in the Jefferson Davis County area, prior to moving to Ruth.

Ms. Rhodes married the late John Haynes and to this union one daughter was born and preceded her in death. After relocating back to the Silver Creek area, Mrs. Rhodes was forced by the Highway 84 four-lane expansion to move to a home in Brookhaven, where she spent the remainder of her golden years.
