“A Banker in Every Classroom” is one of the largest programs ever to teach students about personal finance in Mississippi schools.  Governor Phil Bryant recognized the significance of the project when he proclaimed November 2-6 as “A Banker in Every Classroom Week” in the state.  During this week, hundreds of Mississippi bankers joined local teachers throughout the state to present nearly 500 lessons in personal finance to more than 12,000 students in grades K through 12.

The focus of “A Banker in Every Classroom” is to support teachers and bankers in making presentations to students in their local communities.  Teacher-banker teams determine the content of all presentations, which may cover topics ranging from savings and credit to budgeting to careers in banking.

MBA promotes the program and provides age-appropriate materials to teachers and bankers.
