Funeral services were held Wednesday January 13, 2016 at Bassfield Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. Frank Courtney, age 83, of Bassfield, who passed away on January 10, 2016 at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Bassfield Cemetery.

Rev. Ken Roberts officiated.  Pallbearers were Mark Courtney, David Courtney, David Baughman, Michael Courtney, Mike Pierce, and Trey Courtney. Serving as Honorary Bearers were Freddy Courtney, Jimmy Courtney, and Jack Courtney.

Mr. Courtney was born March 3, 1932. He was the son of Marvin Courtney and Edna Davis Courtney. He was a cattle farmer and an active member of Bassfield Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Edith Baughman of Bassfield, MS. His brother, Ken Courtney of Pearl, MS and his special friend Brenda Bagley of Bassfield, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.
