Funeral services were held Jan. 25, 2019, at Taylorhill M. B. Church
in New Hebron for Mr. O. C. Powell, 102, who died Jan. 17, 2019, at
Jeff Davis Extended Care Facility.  Rev. Robert McDuffey, pastor,
officiated with burial following in the church cemetery. Johnson
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. O. C. Powell was born in Simpson County to the late Ethel Powell
Baggett. He joined Taylor Hill M. B. Church at an early age. He
attended school at Taylor Hill School.  He loved farming, raising
cattle, reading and meeting people.
He is survived by: caretaker and cousin, Jimmy Graves of Prentiss and
many other relatives and friends.
