Mississippi has a total of 4,716 cases, including 183 deaths.

“It is possible that we have a spike in COVID-19 cases in Jefferson Davis County,” said JDC EMA Director Jocelyn Ragsdale.

“This could be attributed to the Easter storms after which we all became relaxed during the crisis.”

“Shelter-in-place is the only way to halt a spike. Please continue to practice social distancing and protect yourself by wearing a mask and gloves, as well as using hand sanitizer.”

“We need to do everything we can to protect our citizens and stop the spread of this virus in our county.”

Non-essential businesses in the area remain closed until Monday as per the governor’s orders.
