A Memorial Day service will be held May 30 at the Jefferson Davis County Courthouse in Prentiss. The service will start at 9:30 a.m. and is coordinated by the Jefferson Davis County Veterans Affairs office and the Town of Prentiss. Speaker for the event will be Jefferson Davis County Veterans Service Officer Joe Bridges. A flag will be placed in front of the monument for each Jefferson Davis County soldier killed in action as their name is read, followed by the placing of the wreath and playing of Taps.
