Prentiss man commuted by President Obama

A Prentiss man had his sentence commuted last week by President Barack Obama.
Malcolm Hartzog, of Prentiss, was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance in U.S. District Court Southern District of Mississippi. He was sentenced March 3, 2005, to life in prison with 10 years of post-release supervision.
His sentence was commuted to 30 years in prison.
